… it looks as if some topics never let me go!

Last weekend I participated in a photography workshop ‘object photography intensive’ with Eberhard Schuy.

That rocks! At least if you like excitingly staged object photos.

I like Eberhard’s object- and still photos for a long time already. However with each minute of Eberhard’s interesting key note my respect for his work increased. In his keynote Eberhard explained some tricks about the production of selected work. Nothing seems to happen by accident. Not the way in which a glas breaks, or the color of a drink or the position of a drop on a bottle. Totally different in comparison with streetphotography …

In the afternoon the participants had the chance to stage their own objects. Once the concept has been roughly scribbled the shooting at the set started. No wonder why I decided to stage my loved ALL★STARs, that grabbed my attentions throughout the last year.

Exhibitions 2012

exhibition001 My exhibitions did not make it in the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf yet, but the Inside in Mainz, the Kulturkreis Wallauer-Fachwerk in Hofheim, the Harxheimer Weinhöfefest, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt are great locations as well. Furthermore two of my photographs have been presented at the Photokina 2012.

Below you will find some impressions of most of my exhibitions and the presented photographs.

Mainz im Quadrat

Since beginning of October “Mainz im Quadrat” is available in the gallery “Altstadt Galerie Lehnert” in Mainz.

Photos from Mainz taken from extraordinary perspectives laminated on 3cm thick MDF-boards.

Currently 44 “Mainz im Quadrat” photos in color and black & white are available. The photos can be individually combined, for example in a row of 3 photos or as a tableau of 3 x 3 or 5 x 4 different photos. They do not miss there effect as single pieces places on your desk or rack or window ledge as well.

With “Mainz im Quadrat” I am presenting well known Mainz views in an exciting way.

This is not a shoe. It’s a mania.

When pressing the shutter button to take a streetphoto of ALL★STAR Chucks the first time in January 2012, the idea of a series was born quickly. What I was not aware about at that point in time, was how strong this idea would grab my attentions throughout the year.

Unbelievable how fast selective perception works. It is comparable with the following situation. When buying a unique car, you might decide for a model which is not very common. You are 100% sure that it is not common at all, especially not in that specific color. Once the purchase contract is signed you recognize tons of this model, exactly in the color ordered by yourself.

Exactly that is, what happened to me with regard to ALL★STARs. Beginning with the first click of the shutter button, I started to notice ALL★STAR chucks everywhere.

It doesn’t matter where I have been … in New York, in Mainz, Frankfurt, Neapel, Pompeji, Zürich, Köln … ALL★STARs everywhere …

What started with a simple click in January, turned into a real mania throughout the year.
